  • Really heart warming family story

Really hits close to home. Amazing story with great acting. Anna Akana really shines and always loved Lynn Chen since she started out with Saving Face. She always kills it and would love to see them in more big roles.

This was an entertaining movie. This movie is about a seemingly spoiled girl in America that didn’t understand where the money she spent came from till it stopped. Then she went to China to work for the family business to try to get the money back. There she learned so much more about her family and the business and also herself. Basically this was a great story line, and good portrayal of complex family dynamics that are very relatable. I have recommended to friends.

What a great movie ! It was funny, witty and kept me watching. Think any Asian American can relate to this movie in some way. Nicely written. We need more movies like this.

Pure entertainment of how life can be just perfect one day and things can change the next.

I’ve loved Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong. It was extremely witty and beautifully shot. I was a bit hesitant to watch this because of how perfect her previous movie was. When the movie finished and the credits started rolling, I found myself clapping in extreme satisfaction. It was an amazing heartfelt movie with a great message about family. I’ve watched it several times with friends and family. I can’t wait for her next work!

While the acting was ok and in general I really enjoy cross cultural films, this one was simplistic, poor character development, oh so so. there re so many other excellent cross cultural and multi language films, this one does not make the grade in my opinion. H

My half Chinese family got some enjoyment out of the concept and situations of this movie. And parts of it are enjoyable, but the plot is contrived and unimaginative. The acting is mediocre. Kelly Hu’s part looks like she filmed it on location in her own kitchen. Can’t say I would recommend it.
