This movie is the the best horror film you will ever see. The acting is the best part of the film, jack Nicholson Gives a performance that you won’t see in any where else. And what makes this film standout from all the that it’s unknown and with your fear what is unknow.

Starting at 1:20 there starts to be static going across the screen. Luckily this movie has movies anywhere because my VUDU copy is playing just fine.

About an hour and twenty minutes into the movie bars of static appear. It's an otherwise five star movie ruined by a digital bug in the programming.

The Shining isn't like other horror movies like Friday the 13th, Halloween or even Alien as supposed to it's source material The Shining is a masterpiece why because of everything about it is scary and realistic the acting is fantastic even the settings are beautiful the look of the shining is scary most of it is violent and haunting don't watch this alone.

I've seen the movie several times and very few horror movies can match this one's level of atmosphere. I've had a niece who watched it and said it wasn't very scary; she's 12. The horror really can only be caught on by adults because the character who the audience really lives through is Shelley Long's. SPOILER WARNING: having a child with something wrong with him that doctors and psychiatrists can't find as well as a husband with a history of drinking and child abuse going past the point of no return and dead set on killing the both of you. The horror is not immediate, it's the boiling tension that eventually bursts at the end. It's the movie that made me love any media that can be qualified as a slow burn. Don't be distracted, the ghosts aren't the threat.
