I love the direction Ray has moved in. It is no small feat to make an album of songs that are strong across the board; there are not albums many out there that don't have at least one song that I want to skip past. Not so here (check out Supernova too; also a fantastic work). This album is a seamless mix of melancholic, sometimes raw trippy blues/rock, feeling both introspective but expansive, like driving alone under a wide horizon. One of the best solid albums I have listened to of the last couple years.

This album is simply an artist being an artist. Not confining himself to any preconceptions by his audience. A great album by great musicians that understand change is necessary. Embracing it with pure intentions. If you like Pink Floyd and My Morning Jacket, buy this album!

As a true fan of Ray, I completely expect this album. It is stunningly beautiful and not surprisingly so. No, you're never going to hear any of these songs on the radio but each and every one would make a lovely photograph. A tapestry for the senses. Just gorgeous.
