Last night’s horrific incident at Route 91 festival has left us at Edge Music Network devastated. We have always operated under the belief that music transcends hate and brings people together regardless of who we are.

Whether it is the Manchester bombing or last night’s shooting, we need to show that you shouldn’t be afraid of celebrating music-something we all love. We want to support the victims and their families through this tragic time. That’s why, we have set up a GoFundMe page for people who are interested in donating to the victims and families of the shooting. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the victims of the shooting. Thank you for your support.

Prophets of Rage have just dropped their new album "Prophets of Rage", and it is one of the most epic collaboration albums in music history. Prophets of Rage was formed last year by members of Rage Against the Machine (Tom Morello, Brad Wilk, Tim Commerford), Public Enemy (Chuck D, DJ Lord) , and Cypress Hill (B-Real).

In "Prophets of Rage", the songs are a mixture of their classic music styles and new age rock. Two songs that best exemplify the tone of the album are:

1. Un**** the World

Un**** the World starts off like any Rage Against the Machine song with a heavy rock guitar. However, Prophets of Rage decided to break down the verses into a softer guitar rhythm that synced well with Chuck D and B-Real’s flow. The lyrics are also very reminiscent to the anti-fascist and anti-government messages from the Rage Against the Machine and Public Enemy era.

2. Take Me Higher

Take Me Higher is a little break from the rest of their album due to its funk instrumentals. Unlike the other songs, Chuck D and B-Real shift their uptempo rapping to match the slower drum beat. Take Me Higher also includes a psychedelic guitar solo, which adds some extra flavor into the song.

The rest of “Prophets of Rage” is made up of similar songs with lyrics that challenge the status quo of our current political environment. You can see the full album and tour dates on their website
