Eminem – Rap God

The video for “Rap God”, displays Eminem being stuck in a digital environment controlled by scanning machines. The video features Eminem as a parody of “Max Headroom” with a series of glitches throughout the video. Eventually Eminem turns into an omnipotent being that can float objects around him. The video for “Rap God” ended up being nominated for three MTV video awards in the editing and art categories.

Eminem – River

Released: 2018

The video for Eminem’s recent song “River”, primarily shows Eminem and a female actress in a troubled relationship. The main source of conflict in the video is the female actresses reveal that she cheated on Eminem out of revenge and is pregnant. The video highlights the Eminem’s frustration by showing him break objects in a raining hotel room. The intense theme of the video creates a feeling of nostalgia from one of his greatest music videos, “Stan.”

Eminem – Detroit Vs. Everybody

The black and white video for “Detroit Vs. Everybody” features Royce da 5’9″, Loaf, Danny Brown, Big Sean, Dej Loaf, Trick-Trick, and Eminem rapping in various Detroit locations. All of the Detroit native rappers are shown rapping on either the top of a skyscraper overlooking Detroit or in a dilapidated building. The video does an amazing job at capturing the beauty of Detroit, but also showing the bleak nature of Detroit’s lower-socioeconomic neighborhoods.
